The difference between the 11975KIT and the 119176KIT wiring harnesses is that the 119176KIT includes a power wire that provides the power for the trailer lighting, directly from the vehicle batter. The converter box in the 119176KIT wiring is simply a switch that allows the proper signal to be sent to the trailer lights when the vehicle lighting circuits are activated. With the 119176KIT, the vehicles sensitive circuitry is protected and is only supplying about 5 milliamps for the trailer lighting. The battery supplies the actual power.

The 119175KIT is a flow through device that provides the power directly from the vehicle circuitry, and it is not recommended for a vehicle with sensitive circuitry like the 2006 Volvo XC70.

Since your vehicle has the battery in the spare tire well, running the power wire for the 119176Kit should be much simpler than having to run the wire all the way to the engine compartment at the front of the vehicle.
