No Voltage Reading from an Electric Brake Wire on a 1999 Ford F-150 with No Brake Controller

Question:

ihave a 7-way connector. iam not getting a voltage reading on my blue electric brake wire. will a brake conroller solve this problem 99 f150 4by4

Expert Reply:

If you do not currently have a brake controller installed, you are not going to get any voltage at the connector. The controller tells the trailer brakes when and with how much power to operate the brakes. We have a large selection of brake controllers to choose from. If your truck 7-Way is a factory item, then there will be a port you can plug a brake controller into so you do not have to do any hardwiring. I have added a link to these controller/harness combos.
