Measuring a Toyota FJ Cruiser to Determine Which Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Racks Might Fit

Question:

I am trying to pick out a bike rack that will fit on my FJ cruiser without the rear wheel interfering and I dont want a rear tire mount rack. Will this rack work? thank you,

In order to determine if the Yakima BigHorn 4, # Y02404, or another bike rack will fit your Toyota FJ Cruiser, you will need to take one important measurement. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on the vehicle out to the distance required to clear the spare tire to get the amount of clearance needed.

The BigHorn is 11-1/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar on the bike rack. The 4 bike rack that offers the most clearance is going to be the Softride Dura Parallelogram, # SR26247, which can be used with its optional extension, # SR26033, to extend the rack a total of up to 14 inches. The next most clearance can be found on the SportRack Escape 4, # A30404, which has 12-1/4 inches of clearance. I have included a link to a video review for this rack as well.
