On a 1998 GMC serria where is the brake sw. wire that is connected to a brake controller?

The wire in question is located in the large wiring harness under the dash near the steering column. Since the wire colors are not consistent from year to year (or sometimes even within the same model year) you will have to use a circuit tester, like part # 40376, and probe the wires until you find one that will only show current when the brake pedal is pressed.
