The first thing you will need to do is look above the spare tire underneath the rear of your vehicle. If you see a round connector, then you will be able to install a 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket, part # HM40975, by simply plugging it into the port. You will need to make a few more connections under the hood of your 2006 Chevy Silverado to complete the install. See the FAQ page I attached for how this is done.
If there is not that port then there should be four blunt cut wires that you could wire to a 4-Pole 48 inch Long Vehicle End Connector, part # 118001, color for color.
If you see blunt cut wires and you need 4 and 7 way connector you will need a Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out. When you are installing this you will cut the four way off of the connector from this kit and wire those wires to the wiring that is under the rear of your Silverado
