It looks like you have done a good job with the math and that makes it easier to get you the best answer. With the Thule Bed-Rider Locking, Aluminum 2 Bike Carrier, # TH822XT, installed at the position you have mention on your Honda Ridgeline, the bike would be right at the edge of the bed where the tailgate closes or just a few inches on the tailgate. Better to err on the side of caution in this case and I do believe that the back tire will be on or overhand above the tailgate.

It will fit, just not with the tailgate up. However, there are a couple of options. If you plan to have other gear or cargo in the bed, you could install a bed extender like # BX4004-02. This sits on the tailgate allowing you to have the the tailgate down for longer loads but still keep cargo in the bed of the truck.

Another option would be a different type of bike rack. Take a look at the Softride Shuttle Pad Tailgate Bike Carrier, # SR26457. This carrier attaches to the tailgate and provides padded, secure attachment points for as many as 6 bikes. The carrier also has a flap that pulls down for access to the tailgate handle.

There are two versions, the one listed above is for full size trucks and is 61 inches long. The other, # SR26461, is for mid size trucks and is 54 inches long. I have included a link to a video review of this carrier for your to view.

Finally, you could also install a trailer hitch and hitch mounted bike rack to carry bikes on your Ridgeline. To make the best recommendation for both, I would need the year of your Ridgeline and how many bikes you want to carry.
