Question:

I have a 1999 F-250 turbo diesel. I want to pull trailers with electric brakes. Does the truck come with a built in brake controller? I suspect it doesnt and there is none installed aftermarketas far as I can tell. What is a good brake controller setup controller, wiring harness,etc. for this application. I need it to control 2 6000# axles each with brakes. The truck has a 4 pin straight plug and a 6 pin round plug on it. I want the proportional brake controller not the time delay.

I can strongly recommend the Tekonsha P3 brake controller, # 90195, for your F-250. It is one of our best sellers, mainly because of it's easy installation and set-up, and it is able to handle many different types of trailer setups.

You will also need the Tekonsha Wire Replacement for Ford Trucks, # 3035-P, one end of the adapter would plug into the under dash port, and the other end into the back of the controller.

You can also purchase the P3 and wire replacement as a pair, using part # 90195-3035P.
