Question:
Trying to find out if I can get a transmission cooler for a 2008 Nissan Quest mini-van, or more specifically if it needs one for towing. It does not appear on your shopping pages. We tow a 2800lb camper. Thanks!

Expert Reply:
Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific so you can use a cooler on your 2008 Nissan Quest. The fittings are specific to vehicles but most of the coolers come with a universal adapter or multiple sized fittings to fit different sizes.
A transmission cooler would be a good addition when towing with any vehicle. The added cooling offered will prolong the life of your transmission by keeping the fluid at the optimum temperature. I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13502. This is a class II cooler rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight.
I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation of this cooler for you to view. I have also included a link to our transmission cooler FAQ page for reference.
