Will SportRack Tilting 3 Bike Rack Work with a Class I Hitch

Because of the lower tongue weight capacity that is found with a Class I hitch, the SportRack Tilting 3 Bike Rack will not work. If you were to use it, you would apply too much downward force to your hitch, likely damaging it and your vehicle. For this reason, many hitch manufacturers actually weld in or punch a stop into the receiver, that prevents the shank from a Class II accessory from being used. Because of this weight limitation, a bike rack used with a Class I hitch is limited to a 2 bike capacity. We do have several other bicycle racks that would work great with your Class I hitch.
