How Does the EGR Superguard Bug Shield Hood Protector # 303611 Secure to a 2010 Ford Explorer

Question:

Im having problems with the brackets metal provided with my egr bug shield for my 2010 ford explorer eddie baurer. The instructions do not explain very well how to position them in the hood. To me it appears to need more screws

Expert Reply:

The majority of what holds this EGR Superguard Bug Shield Hood Protector, part # 303611, is the factory scrivets that are in the middle of the grille. The two screws that go on the outer portion help secure it, but more screws would not be necessary to secure this to your 2010 Ford Explorer.

The screw plugs will install in outer wing holes in the underside of the hood. They should snap right into what looks like slots on the underside of the hood near the outer edges.
