Yes, the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Carrier, item # S63360, will work in both Class I and II hitches so it is compatible with the hitch on your 2011 Ford Edge.

We have not had the opportunity to fit this rack on the Edge but the 11 inch distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright bar and the fold away design of the rack, should allow plenty of space to open the rear door on your Edge.

You may also be interested in the Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin, item # S64029, to secure the rack to your vehicle, and the 10 foot Cable Lock, item # CAB-10 to secure the bikes to the hitch and rack.
