Ball Mount Recommendation for Use with a Draw-Tite # 75673 on a 2010 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
I have a 2010 subaru outback and want to install a hitch. I have not purchased a trailer as of yet 5x8 either. Everything is unknown, I am not show of the rise or required for the Ball mount. I question the clearance of 989900 ball mount and the bumper / trailer 8 inch on 75673 Draw-Tite to bumper - and 8 1/2 inch on ball mount center pin to ball? Is there enough clearance from the ball to bumper to slide the trailer over the ball if ball mount is used in raised position?

There is not a required ball mount for this Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 75673. Since you are worried about clearance I would recommend you use a Trailer Hitch Ball Mount, part # D-4. This ball mount has a distance of 10-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the ball hole. You would have plenty of clearance to run this ball mount in the rise position.
I attached installation instructions below as well as a review video of this hitch for you to check out.
