Will the Thule Raceway Platform Bike Rack # TH9003 Fit on a 2011 Mustang with Satellite Antenna

Question:

My vehicle is a Ford Mustang 2011 V-6 Premium which has a satellite radio antenna mounted three inches down from rear window, centered. Antenna consists of a plastic, round pod 3 x 3 inches. Will the Thule Platform Rack fit over or around this antenna? Thanks for your help.

The Thule Raceway Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, item # TH9003, is recommended for your vehicle by the manufacturer, but my contact there said that they were not able to test vehicles with the satellite radio antenna, that you mentioned, on the trunk of the vehicle.

You may experience issues with any of the truck mount racks that we carry, because of the antenna.

Your best option would probably be to add a trailer hitch, like the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch, item # 24863, along with a platform style bike rack like the Swagman XTC-2, item # S64670.

A couple of my friends, one with a Focus and one with a Cobalt, have gone this route and really like the bike rack and hitch option. We have a video of the XTC-2 Bike rack for you to review.
