Question:
Does the Blue Trailor Brake wire have its own Fuse and if so where is it located on a 2006 Chev Silverado 1500 ???

Expert Reply:
The brake controller power wire should be fused and the 12 volt power wire that goes back to the 7-Way trailer connector will be fused. The blue brake output wire is not fused unless it is fused through the factory tow package. You can find the tow package fuses under the hood in the power distribution box.
On 1999 to 2006 Chevy and GM trucks there are some specific things that need to be done on some models in order to make the brake controller and 7-Way fully functional. I have included a link to an FAQ article that explains the under hood connections that need to be made on some models in order for the brake controller and 7-Way to be fully functional.
