Which Brake Controller Harness is Correct for a 2005 GMC Yukon, 3015-P or 20264

Question:

I have a 2005 GMC Yukon with the factory tow package. I purchased a Tekonsha P3 90915 from you with the wiring adapter 3015-P. Is the location of the factory plug similar to the 1999-2006 GM pickup video? The how to instruction shows part 20264 and I was sold part 3015-P. Is this correct? Is there a normal or recommended location for the controller unit? In your videos you mount the unit much lower than the one installed in my work truck.

Both the 3015-P and the part # 20264 will work just fine with your vehicle. The difference is that the 3015-P will plug directly into the back of the P-3 controller, while the 20264 would need to be spliced into the bare leads that exit the rear of the controller. The adapter would plug into the junction box under the dash, like you saw in the video. The controller must be mounted within driver reach, and according to the manufacturer recommendations.
