Question:
I see your video about wiring a trailer plug to a car but I have a 02 tundra truck. No toe kit or wireing in this truck. In the wiring video you install a converter? In the video you run wires to stop, run, R and L turns. What is the converter for? Do I need one for my tundra? I am installing a 7 flat pin for my new fifth wheel. If so what is the number of the one I need? Thanks

To install a 7-Way blade style trailer connector on your 2002 Toyota Tundra, there are a couple of parts you will need. First, you will start with installing a 4-Way wiring harness, # 118378. The tail light signals on your Tundra work on a 3-wire system. The converter takes those signals and converts them down to a 2-Wire system used by the trailer. I have included a link to the installation details for reference.
Next, you will need to install a 4 and 7 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. The 4-Way that you previously installed will connect to the back of the ETBC7. The remaining wires will need to be hardwired to the vehicle. The kit comes with everything needed for installation but you may also need a circuit tester, # 3808, if you do not already have one. In order to activate the electric brakes on the trailer, you will also need a brake controller.
I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, # 90885. This is one of our most popular brake controllers and it is easy set up and use. I have included a link to the installation details for the brake controller for reference. I have also included links that explain and show how to install an ETBC7 kit. Finally, I have included a link to our brake controller FAQ article.
