Question:
do i need a certain programmer, can I use my factory muffler? will the exhaust nois be loud? will this unit fit and replace my catalytic converter and dpf without the use of a programmer if not what kind of programmer do i need. Also is there a need for a egr block off plate needed to not throw codes

It would not be required to use an aftermarket programmer in order to use a MagnaFlow Exhaust System, part # MF16972. If you were to install a programmer onto your Dodge Ram you would achieve even more performance and fuel efficiency, but it is not necessary.
This exhaust tone will be deep and throaty but quiet on the inside of your vehicle. It will not be too loud but it will be noticeable louder than your factory exhaust system. If you desired a louder exhaust tone you could swap the Magnaflow muffler out and install the muffler-delete straight pipe in its place and have an even louder system.
You could not use your factory muffler in place of the Magnaflow muffler on this system. You could only use the Magnaflow muffler or the muffler delete pipe.
