Question:
Is there an alternate paper compound filter element for this application. I live out in the country in very dusty road / field conditions. The oil filter gets too dirty too fast and plugs up. I would prefer a quality filter I can change more often if necessary.

If you have the aFe Direct Fit Cold Air Intake System with Pro Guard 7 Oil-Based Filter, # AFE75-80882-0, on your 2006 GMC Sierra, you can replace the oiled filter with aFe Universal Pro Dry S Air Filter - Clamp On, # AFE21-90038. I also recommend Cleaners for aFe Pro Dry S Air Filter, # AFE90-59999, to clean the dry filter. With this filter, you will not have to replace the filter for a long time if it is properly cleaned every 25,000 to 30,000 miles.
