For a trailer hitch for your 2009 Acura MDX, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13354, as it is one of our most popular hitches for that vehicle. This is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver opening. It has a tongue weight capacity of 400 pounds and gross trailer weight capacity of 4,000 pounds. For a 4 bike rack, I recommend the Yakima BigHorn 4 Bike Hitch Mounted Tilting Rack, # Y02404. This rack comes with anti-sway (SwitchBlade) cradles that prevent the bikes from rocking back and forth. it also features rubber straps and it has the ability to tilt down away from the vehicle so you will be able to open the rear hatch.
