Are Oil Bath Hubs recommended with Brake Kit # T4843100 for a Boat Trailer

Question:

Do you also have a kit with the oil bath style hub? If not is is not a good idea to use the oil bath design with disc brakes?

Expert Reply:

The best recommendation for a boat trailer is a grease-able hub like the Titan Disc Brake Kit, item # T4843100, that you have selected. At this time we do not carry an oil bath hub disc brake kit.

Oil bath hubs are normally used on heavier duty style trailer axles. They must also be closely watched in situations where the trailer is submerged in water, because the oil will breakdown much faster than grease will when water is introduced. Oil bath hubs can be used on disc brake axles, but standard grease filled axles are a better choice because they can be maintained easier.

The bearing protectors included in the Titan Disc Brake Kit make maintenance a breeze. I have posted a couple of installation videos for you to review.
