Why Is Trailer Wiring Converter Harness Needed for 2007 Cadillac SRX
Question:
Why the need for a converter KIT on the 56146KIT when you can normally wire a 4-flat plug directly to the light wiring at the rear of the vehicle? the vehicle is a 2007 Cadillac SRX. Thx!

In a lot of vehicle the turn signals are separate from the stop lights which is different from how trailer lighting works. That's why a converter is needed to match the circuit styles. Also a lot of vehicle't taillights can't handle the amperage draw of the trailer taillights so the power has to come from the battery which is what the # C56496 also allows.
