Question:
Transmitter back up camera where is best to instal neer monitor or camera

Expert Reply:
The best place to mount the transmitter for the Peak Performance Wireless Back-Up Camera, # PK015737, depends on the vehicle. If installing it on a car, the transmitter can be placed in the trunk. If installing in an SUV or van, the rear cargo area would be a could location, like in the video linked for reference. On a truck, it would be best to route it in the cab of the truck using the Extension Cord, # PKCORD.
Basically, you will want to mount it in a place that keeps the transmitter out of the elements and in a place that gives it a pretty clear shot to the monitor with as little metal as possible between it and the monitor. The transmitter has a maximum unobstructed range of 75 feet. The closer to the monitor, the better the signal will be for the monitor.
