Question:
the nissan juke requires SAE class S chains for the P215/55R17 all-season tires I am wondering if the Thule 12mm in size 100 are SAE? thank you

Expert Reply:
A class S tire chain would have to have 37mm or less clearance above the tire tread and 15mm or less clearance from the sidewall of the tire. The Thule CB12 chains are only 12mm so they could be considered a class S chain and would be S.A.E. compliant.
Since your 2011 Nissan Juke has 215/55-17 tires, you will need to use Thule Tire Chains, # TH01221100, which would be a proper fit for your tire size. I have included a link to a video review of these chains for you to view. I have also included a link to all of the chains that will fit your tire size.
You will also want to check your owners manual to make sure chains are permitted for use and if there are any other additional restrictions. I have also added links to our tire chain FAQ and an FAQ specific to Thule chains.
