Question:
Would I be able to use this on a streetbike? Specifically, I have a Yamaha VStar Custom 650 which is around 513 lbs.

You should be able to use the Trailer Hitch Mounted Dirt Bike Carrier, item # RHDC1, for your Yamaha VStar Custom 650 that weighs 513 pounds, as long as the vehicle tongue weight capacity and the hitch tongue weight capacity is over 628 pounds. 628 pounds is the weight of the bike added to the weight of the carrier. You will also need to take into account the weight of any cargo loaded behind the rear axle of the vehicle when figuring tongue weight.
Personally I would recommend the Trailer Hitch Mounted Motorcycle Carrier, # RHMC1SV. Besides a small trailer, this is the safest way to carry the bike and it will not have nearly as much tongue weight. If traveling long distances, the chain should be removed on chain driven bikes to avoid damaging the bike. Belt and shaft drives so not have to be removed.
