Installing the 4-Pole Trailer Adapter # 118384 on a 2010 Chevy Avalanche

The 4-Pole Trailer Adapter for GM trucks with Factory 7 Way, # 118384, is meant to plug in line with the factory wiring and provide a 4-Way flat connection. The 4-Way will provide left and right turn signal functions, brake light functions, and running light functions. The reverse light circuit will not be used or needed. I have included a link to the installation details below.

If your 2010 Chevy Avalanche does not have a factory connector, you can add a 7-Way by using Twist-in, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector, # PK11916. I have included a link to an installation video on a similar vehicle below.

If you have or install a 7-Way and just want to use a 4-Way occasionally, you could use an adapter like # PK12716. For any case above, the reverse light circuit does not have to be installed. If you need the reverse light function to activate a reverse lock out, it would need to be connected to the 7-Way and you can use an adapter like # 37385. Or, for a 4-Way, you would use adapter # 20036, and the extra wire would need to be hardwired into the reverse light circuit on the vehicle.
