How to install EGR In-Channel Slimline Air Deflectors and Remove Old Tape on Air Deflectors

Question:

I have four air deflectors already installed near the body of the door. How can I remove them without damaging the paint on the car. Also, how do you install these slimline window visors into the channels of the window. I have a Nissan Armada 2006.

The EGR In-Channel Slimline Window Visors, item # 574861, are installed by positioning the visors leading edge in the window track with the window down and then slightly bending it and working the visor into the window track all the way to the rear. We have an online video installation of this product on a similar vehicle that should help with your installation, see link.

Removing your existing tape on air deflectors will require a bit of work. I removed a set of these off of a 1995 Chevrolet pickup some years ago, due to hail damage. I would say I spent an hour and a half carefully removing all of the tape from the paint with 90 percent isopropyl alcohol and a dull pocket knife. You will need to be very careful not to damage the paint on your vehicle. Initially I worked the knife under the air deflector as close to the plastic as possible and once the deflector started coming off I pulled it the rest of the way off. Then it is just a matter of perseverance and care in removing the remaining tape.
