Question:
I have a 98 F150, is there a pigtail that I can bring down to wire this up or do I have to search for the wires, especially the blue one? Thanks

Installing a brake controller on your 1998 F150 will be pretty straightforward. You will need the controller and the appropriate wiring adapter, part # 3035-P. One end of the wiring adapter plugs into the brake controller, and the other end plugs into the brake controller connector under the dash.
If your F150 is not already equipped with the 7-way trailer connector, or has the 4-pole connector, you will need the Tow Ready wiring harness, part # 118242. This harness will plug into the factory connection on the drivers side frame rail.
I have provided you a link to the install instructions for the wiring harness and the brake controller wiring adapter. I will also link you to an installation video showing a brake controller being installed on a 2001 F150. Your install will be similar.
