What Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch And Install Kit Is Available For 2002 Toyota Tundra With 6-1/2 Bed

Question:

Im going to buy a roller hitch for the truck but would like a custom install kit if possible. If not - what are my options for purchase and install instructions. Truck is a fleetside so is this even a good idea? Ive looked at Husky, Valley, Curt and Reese - is one better for this application than the other? Thanks 2002 Tundra 61/2 Bed

The different brands of fifth-wheel hitches that we carry (Valley, Curt, Hidden Hitch and Reese) are rated the same as far as quality. All of the fifth wheel hitches have to meet or exceed the industry standards.

You will need to use a sliding fifth-wheel hitch on your 2002 Toyota Tundra with the 6-1/2 foot bed to allow the fifth-wheel to clear your vehicles cab. The Valley brand would be the only fifth wheel sliding hitch that we offer for your 2002 Toyota Tundra 6-1/2 Foot Bed. The Curt and Reese hitches will only fit the 8 foot long bed on the 2002 Toyota Tundra.

The Valley sliding fifth-wheel hitches will not work in Flareside or Stepside model beds. It does not mention any problems with a Fleetside bed, which is just the standard straight side bed.

I do offer the Valley Custom Installation Kit with Rails and Brackets # V55150R. This is a custom install kit that will use existing holes in your vehicles frame. The custom install kit will cut the installation time in half compared to the universal install kits. I am including a link to the installation instructions on the custom install kit.

The Valley sliding fifth-wheel hitches are available in gross towing weight capacities of 15,000 lbs, 16,000 lbs, 20,000 lbs, and 25,000 lbs. It will depend on how much your vehicle is able to tow and the size of the fifth-wheel trailer you will be towing as to what hitch you will need.
