The Stromberg Carlson fifth-wheel tail gate is made of heavy duty steel tubing. It should work well on your 1999 Ford Super Duty, and will stand up longer than other basic, vinyl tail gates just because it is fully constructed out of steel.
This tail gate is also backed by a 1-year limited warranty, and is made in the USA.
