Question:
I need to know if I should look at a hanging style rack or a platform style rack. I want to make sure I have as much ground clearance as possible. Please give me your suggestions, Thanks,

Expert Reply:
Hanging style racks usually offer more ground clearance, such as the Thule Vertex 2 Bike Carrier part # TH9028.
I would recommend you go with the Thule Hanging Rack, part # TH9028, if ground clearance is an issue on your 2010 Honda Civic. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a video review of the bike rack for you.
If you will be carrying womens, childrens or alternative frame bikes, I recommend using the Bike Adapter Bar, # TH982XT, in order to carry the bikes more level. I have included a link to a video showing how the adapter works.
