Can the Thule M.O.A.B. # TH690 be Installed on a 2006 Chevy Tahoe

Question:

I have a 2006 Chev Tahoe I want to put this roof rack on it Will I have any special problems. Also form time to time I e\want to put a 150lb canoe on it. Will it hold up. Im not particular about minor damage. thanks

If your 2006 Chevy Tahoe (does including Z71) has a factory roof rack including cross bars that run side to side, the Thule M.O.A.B., # TH690, will fit the factory cross bars. You will need to check the weight carrying capacity of the cross bars and the roof and stay under which ever one has the lower weight carrying capacity.

In order to install the M.O.A.B., # TH690, on the roof of your 2006 Chevy Tahoe (excluding Z71) if it does not have cross bars that run side to side, you will need to install some. You will need Thule Rapid Aero Crossroad Roof Mounted Railing Foot Pack, # TH450R and Thule AeroBlade Aluminum Load Bars, 60 Inches, # THARB60. You can then install the basket. For a Z71 model, use the same Foot Pack # TH450R, but use # THARB53 cross bars instead.

You could also use the more economical Thule Crossroad Roof Mounted Roof Railing Foot Pack, # TH450 with Thule Load Bars - 58 Inches, # THLB58, and then install the basket. The weight carrying capacity for either of the above roof racks is 165 pounds. Check your owners manual for the Tahoe roof weight carrying capacity and stay under which ever is rated lower.
