Installing the Draw-Tite Activator II Time Delayed Brake Controller, part # 5500, and Draw-Tite Ford Adapter, part # 20260, is fairly straight forward once you have the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, 7-Way (Super Duty) part # 118243 adapter installed. You will need to install all the included relays and fuses to activate the trailer wire functions. Once this is done you can move on to installing the brake controller.
It seems likely that you are seeing cut wires under your dash because your F250 had a brake controller previously installed on it. The harness you are looking for will be most likely under the dash near the center console. You will then need to wire the Ford Adapter # 20260 to the Draw Tite Activator II brake controller and then plug the harness from the adapter into the harness that you discovered previously under the dash.
Aftermarket brake controllers are electronic and do not require wiring to a pressure switch in the master cylinder like the OEM brake controllers do. The wires at your master cylinder will not be needed, unless you are trying to rewire an OEM brake controller. If this is the case, you will need to consult a qualified Ford maintenance technician.
