Question:
I wish to mount the camera and transmitter in a boat for towing. How much amperage does the camera and transmitter draw? Is the transmitter which is normally mounted in the trunk moisture resistant or should it be mounted in a sealed plastic project box?

I spoke with my contact at Peak Performance about the Wireless Back-Up Camera with Color LCD Monitor, # PK015737. He stated that the unit draws about 25 milliamps of power. The transmitter is not waterproof so it is susceptible to the elements. He stated that you can seal it in a plastic Zip Lock type bag or in a sealed plastic project box with minimal interference. The transmitter has a range of 75 feet. You might also be interested in the Extension Cord for Wireless Backup Camera System, # PKCORD. This part extend the connection between the backup camera and the transmitter by 25 feet. I have included a link to a video review of the camera below.
