What is the weight limit for the tire this carrier will handle?

Expert Reply:
I spoke with Stromberg Carlson and they do not have a stated weight capacity for the TR-2 spare tire carrier. They said it can be used with trailer or travel trailer spare tires, but should not be used to carry spares for powered vehicles like cars, trucks or RV/Motorhomes.
It should strictly be used to carry trailer spares.
