Question:
I have a 1996 GMC Suburban that has a Tekonsha Commander installed. I wish to upgrade to the P-3 controller. Is there an adapter or cable I can use, or should I just install from scratch using the supplied cable?

Expert Reply:
As your 1996 Suburban already has the wiring in place and you are just wanting to swap one controller for another, you can simply use the harness included with the P-3. The wiring should match up color for color, but I would recommend using a circuit tester like part # 40376 to confirm your connections before making them.
