Question:
Im looking at the Reese 66069 for the following: I have a Chalet LTW, hard sided folding trailer. Gross trailer weight is 2620 lbs. The typical load for me when I go camping is 1870 lbs witha a tongue weight of 315 lbs. Im towing with a 2004 Nissan Xterra. The rear of the Xterra s about 2 inches and Im thinking that the 66069 will help raise the rear of the vehicle. I believe there is enough room between the two batteries and the two propane tanks for the lift unit assemby. Is the Reese 66069 a good choice or should I be looking at something different?

To know if the Reese Weight Distribution, # RP66069, will fit on your Chalet LTW trailer you will need to measure from the center of your coupler ball back to the A-frame of the trailer. You will need to have clearance of 18 inches to 26 inches for the lift unit assembly to attach to the A-frame of the trailer.
The Reese weight distribution system is designed for 4,000 lbs. gross towing weight and 400 lbs. tongue weight, so it will work fine on your 2,620 lbs. trailer and a tongue weight of 315 lbs.
It will help raise the rear of your 2004 Nissan Xterra and distribute the extra weight from the rear axle of your Nissan Xterra to the front wheels and the trailer wheels.
I would also have the Reese Weight Distribution, # RP66024, which is designed for A-frame trailers that have an A-frame jack. It will include friction pads that the spring bar brackets will ride on to also give sway control.
For this system to fit you will have to measure again on the trailer to make sure you will have space to mount the spring bar brackets. The bracket needs to be mounted on the trailer frame 26 inches back from the center of the hitch ball.
I am sending a link to the installation instructions on the # RP66024 weight distribution system.
