Distance Between the Top of the Roof and Bottom of Roof Rack # 59834 on a 2009 Mazda 5

Question:

I have a sunroof with pop-up vent rear option. The sunroof will be under the roof rack. What is the roof clearance of the rack? FYI - The sunroof in vent position is 2.25 inches at its highest point. Will the roof rack clear this?

Expert Reply:

I spoke with my contact at Rola. He stated that there should be 4 inches of clearance between the top of the roof and the bottom of the Rola Extended Series Roof Rack with APE Mounting System, # 59834, on your 2009 Mazda 5. So that will give you 1-3/4 inches of space between the open sunroof and the bottom of the rail. I have included a link to the installation details below.
