What is the Difference Between the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 and the P3 Brake Controllers

Question:

Im looking at either the P3 or the Prodigy P2. The major differences I see are 3 axis accelerometer in the P2 vs 1 axis in the P3. Looks like that would essentially eliminate alignment issues. The other difference seems to be the display capability and fault detection. Am I missing something here?

Actually, the P3 now has the upgraded axis accelerometer like the P2. The Tekonsha P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195, will work with both electric over hydraulic brakes on the trailer as well as electric brakes. It has a menu option on the display that allows the user to switch between the two systems. I have included a link to the installation details for the P3.

The P2, # 90885, will also work with both electric brakes and electric over hydraulic brake systems but the mode is selected differently since it doesn't have the same kind of display as the P3. The is more of an entry level brake controller; easy to use, easy to mount, and it works well. That is probably why it is one of our most popular and highest rated brake controllers. I have also included a link to the installation details for the P2 below.
