Recommendation for Weight Distribution and Sway Control On a Jayco Kiwi and 2005 Dodge Ram 1500

Yes, the Reese SC Weight Distribution System, item # RP66153, would be a good match for your trailer. Just be sure that the tongue weight of the trailer does not exceed the 800 pound maximum tongue weight rating when fully loaded and ready to travel.

You will also need to make sure that there is room on the trailer frame to mount the frame brackets. With this system and 800 pounds of tongue weight or less you will need room somewhere between 20 and 27 inches on both sides of the frame (see instructions).

Along with the # RP66155 weight distribution system you will need a properly sized hitch ball. Either the Hitch Ball with 2-5/16 inch Diameter and Medium Shank, 12,000 lbs GTW, item # 19286, or the Hitch Ball with 2 inch Diameter and Medium Shank, 8,000 lbs GTW, item # A-90, should work with the coupler on your trailer.
