Recommendation Between Rola 23x56 or Tow Ready 20x48 Cargo Carrier For a 2011 Sorento

Question:

I have a 2011 Kia Sorento with a class 2 1 1/4 hitch installed. Im debating the two Rola carriers mentioned 23x56 and 20x48. Other than price, would there be any reason to the 20x48 over the larger one? My hitch is elevated about 11 inches off the ground so maybe the extra inch riser would help? Sorry - Im new to all this. From the shipping weights it seems the larger carrier weighs about 24 pounds more. Do you have the exact weights each carrier? Thank you

Unless you need that extra few square inches the larger Rola Carrier, # 59507, has to offer, I would recommend the 20x48 Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4 inch (Class II Only) Trailer Hitches, # 63155. This carrier not only gives you a 3 inch rise from the top of the hitch opening, but also 2 more inches of clearance (11 inches total) from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier.

You can also put in an optional light kit, # 20174, if your cargo obstructs the taillights on your 2011 Kia Sorento. I have included a video of this kit below.

I also recommend a locking hitch pin, like Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - Flush Design, # 7682, to deter theft.

The actual weight of the carriers will be very close to the shipping weight, but slightly lower to account for shipping materials. The 63155 carrier weighs about 43 pounds. The 59507 carrier weighs about 67 pounds.
