What is the Width Between and the Angle of the Spring Bars on Weight Distribution System 66155

Question:

Hello Boat trailer - Hydraulic brakes - Straight pole. Boat and Trailer weight 10500 lbs - tongue wt about 800lbs Hydraulic actuator sits on top of pole and is 40 inches long from ball to end of actuator 20,000 lb actuator, therefore I cannot use the pole tongue adapter. I will build a custom pole tongue adapter, but need to know how wide should it be and what angle? How wide is the Reese RP66156 and what angle are the attachment bars? Looking at using the Reese RP66156 - is this a good selection? Thanks for all your help.

I spoke with my contact at Reese and he said The High Performance Reese SC Weight Distribution System, # RP66155, from the outside of one mounting bracket to the outside of the other bracket that hold the spring bars is 15-1/2 inches. The pole tongue adapter angle will need to be 50 degrees. Most trailer frames are usually 50 degrees.

The High Performance Reese SC Weight Distribution System, # RP66156, would be a good system for the gross trailer weight and tongue weight of the trailer and boat. The tongue weight capacity is between 600 and 1,200 pounds on this system so the 800 pound tongue weight is right in the middle.
