What are the *inside* dimensions and capacity of this ski rack? I want to also use it for lumber, for instance

Most lumber would be too thick, like a standard 2x4. The Thule Flat Top Carrier, part # TH92725, is designed to hold skis and snowboards which are not as thick as most pieces of lumber.
The opening is 23-5/8 inches long and the carrier will accommodate skis or snowboards up to about 1-1/4 inches thick.
