Brake Controller for Electric Brakes

Question:

I have a tent trailer with electric brakes. I don't know much about trailer brakes. Can I used a proportional brake controller on electric brakes - or are they either on or off?

You would need a brake controller in order to use the trailer's electric brakes. A proportional controller is a great choice, because it keeps your trailer's braking closely in sync with your vehicle's braking. I would recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller, part # 90185. The Prodigy is our best selling brake controller, and is very easy to use and set up.
