Question:
will this basket carrier attach to the factory cross bars of subaru forster 2008? How much weight can it take? My roof does not have rubber bars on itwill the basket touch the roof or be suspended by the bars?

The SportRack Roof Mounted Cargo Basket will bolt directly to the factory cross bars on your 2008 Forester as long as they are not wider than 3-1/2 inches. The basket will sit on top of your existing cross bars, and will not touch the roof at any point.
The basket has a 110 lb capacity. Keep in mind that the capacity of your factory roof rack will come into play here, as well. The basket weighs approximately 40 lbs, so the factory rack capacity will be reduced by 40 lbs. The factory rack should have a sticker on it somewhere that will state the capacity. If you can find no sticker, this should be mentioned in the owners manual.
