The Stabil-Step Stabilizer Jack for Step Assembly, part # JSS-7 adjusts by turning the plate to achieve the right height you need. I have attached a photo of the stabilizer that shows the threaded inner leg you can take a look at.
This stabilizer adjusts from 8 inches when retracted to 13-1/2 inches when fully extended. The square plates measure 4 by 4 inches, and this has a weight capacity of 750 lbs.
