Hi-Low Drop Used With Cargo Carrier

Question:

Can I use the RM-076 to raise the effective height of my receiver hitch when attaching a cargo carrier NOT a trailer? The receiver on my Dodge Caravan is rather low, and using the cargo carrier risks dragging it on steep entryways, etc.

The high-low adapters are only for use with a motor home while towing another vehicle with a tow bar. They are not designed or intended for use while towing any trailer, cargo carrier, or bike rack. A safer option would be the Dual-purpose ball mount, part # V75090, which will raise the hitch opening a few inches. The Dual-purpose ball mount also has a ballmount below the receiver for towing and using an accessory at the same time.
