Will 2008 Chevy Truck OEM Hitch Reducer Work on Diversi-Tech Ball Mount, # DTALBM6600,

Question:

Can I use the 2 1/2 to 2 reducer sleeve that came with my 2008 Chevy truck with this ball mount?, Are the locking pins on the ball mount long enough to lock both pieces to the hitch?

On the Diversi-Tech Ball Mount, # DTALBM6600, you would need to use the Diversi-Tech 2-1/2 inch to 2 inch Adapter Kit for DTLBM and DTALBM Series Locking Ball mounts, # DTADP35, on your 2008 Chevy Truck. The adapter kit comes with its own lock, so you would have a key that fits the adapter and a key that fits the ball mount. The reducer that came with your truck will not work because the pins on the ball mount will not extend enough into the reducer to attach properly.

I would recommend using the Diversi-Tech Ball Mount, # DTALBM6625, because it comes with an adapter that is bolted to the ball mount and gives a much more solid fit. It has the same capacities as the, # DTALBM6600, that you asked about, and it will fit into your 2-1/2 inch receiver. Also you would only have one key to lock the ball mount to the receiver.
