Do You Carry any Towing Bike Rack with 5 Bike Capacity

Question:

Do you sell a 5 bike carrier that will attach to my trailer hitch and allow me to pull my Coleman trailer at the same time?

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer a towing bike rack that will hold 5 bikes. We do offer the SportRack Escape Towing Bike Rack, part # A30404TW200 which will hold 4 bikes.

When Using a Towing Bike Rack, you will need to ensure that the tongue weight of the trailer and the weight of the rack plus the bikes on it does not exceed the tongue weight capacity of the hitch on your vehicle.

Given that the average bike weighs 30 pounds and most racks weigh around 40 to 50 pounds when fully loaded, you are talking about 200 pounds of tongue weight before connecting the trailer. If your hitch has a 350 pound tongue weight capacity, you will not have much capacity left for the trailer. This is why a 5 bike towing rack is not offered.
