Securing a Motorcycle to a Trailer for Transport

Question:

I am going to be transporting a 650 pound motorcycle. I have a 5x10 trailer with a wood floor with ramp. I need something to stand the bike up and hold it down secure. What is the cheapest route I can go? Will be transporting motorcycle right at 100 miles and have never transported or tied a motorcycle down before.

I would probably use the Low Profile Removable Motorcycle Wheel Chock, item # TWSPWM, along with two packs, four, Premium 6 foot x 2 inch Spring Clamp Tie Downs with Strap Trap by Master Lock, item # 3065DAT. These tie downs have a 833 pound safe load limit. A motorcycle on a trailer is subject to much more severe bouncing and jarring than one tied down in the rear of a truck, so a better tie down system is required.

If you need tie down points on the trailer you could use Trailer D-Ring Tie Downs, item # SR15-C, which have a safe load limit of 1600 pounds. You may also want to use the 1 inch x 18 inch Tie-Down Motorcycle Assist Straps, item # 06303, to help secure the motorcycle and protect the finish.
