Unfortunately, at this time a plug-in wiring harness is not available for the 2001 Chevrolet Impala. To wire your vehicle for towing, you would use a 4-way Connector, part # 18002. This connector would wire directly into the lighting circuits behind your taillight assemblies. The easiest way to locate the correct circuits would be to use a circuit tester, such as part # 40376. Start grounding the white wire from connector to the vehicle. Next, activate the left turn signal, then use the circuit tester to probe the wires exiting the taillight assembly on the drivers side of the vehicle. Once you locate the wire that is powered up, tap the yellow wire into that circuit. Then, turn on the headlights. Probe the wires until you find the one with power. This will be the running light circuit, tap the brown wire from the connector into this circuit. You will then need to access the rear of the taillights on the passenger side. The green wire from the connector would tap into the wire that carries the right turn signal. You can locate this wire by activating the right turn signal and using the circuit tester to identify the correct wire.
